Laura Callaway Hart, experienced in complex case management and litigation, is Of Counsel with Duff, White, & Turner, LLC where she practices in all areas of litigation and education law, with an emphasis on litigation and school finance.
Prior to joining Duff, White & Turner, Ms. Hart was a partner in two law firms where she worked primarily as a defense attorney in personal injury and business litigation. She has extensive experience in litigation involving product liability, toxic tort cases for chemical manufacturers, and medical and legal malpractice litigation. Ms. Hart served as one of three primary attorneys for the plaintiff school districts in the landmark school funding lawsuit, Abbeville County School District, et al. v. State of South Carolina, et al., for which she received her firm's pro bono award. She was elected a Fellow in Litigation of America and serves on the Board of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, as well as other community boards.
In 1983, Ms. Hart earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was a member of the Editorial Board of the South Carolina Law Review, the Order of Wig and Robe, and the Order of the Coif and was named the winner of the J. Woodrow Lewis Moot Court Competition. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in piano performance from Converse College.
